I'm not saying Deleorean are copycats but...

First let me say that I bought this EP. Delorean is very interesting in that they were able to fuse indie rock with divergent dance/club genres. For example "Deli" uses a breakbeat that is the bread and butter of Bmore club (see Rye Rye) Philly Club etc., "Moonsoon" features a punchy piano chorus a chopped up sample of soul singers that reminds me of some of the new danceable indie that has come out recently like Passion Pit. The song "Big Dipper" practically borrows the piano of The Juan Maclean's "Happy House" and for good reason too. This album is practically a mashup of some of the best features of dance music appropriated for indie. I'm usually not a big fan of this indie-dance blend, but Delorean has managed to pull it off. My only problem is that the main singer's voice is only alright, but still kudos to the band for turning up the bass drum and not being afraid to use it. I hope more bands start to do this.
