iTunes Review
As suggested by title of the Counting Crows’ first album in six years, Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings deals in celebration and contemplation. The album begins with the band driving hard; “1492” cruises like Pearl Jam. But by album’s end, singer Adam Duritz is nestled up alongside a piano wondering what it all means (“On A Tuesday Afternoon in Amsterdam Long Ago”) before pulling the band together for one final encore of classic rock togetherness (“Come Around”). The band’s louder moments are a tad brittle and Duritz’s plea for understanding his superstar life in “Los Angeles” a tad self-absorbed, but the band succeeds with the mid-tempo acoustic-based rock that brought them to national attention. “You Can’t Count On Me” has a sweet jangle and “On Almost Any Sunday Morning” perfectly replicates that “Sunday Morning Coming Down” that Kris Kristofferson once eloquently put into song. That’s where Counting Crows deliver on their promise as a no-nonsense band of the people.

WOW!!!!!!
by woualumniI have been a Counting Crows fan for years!!! Not knowing what to expect, I played this album for the fist time and it instantly became my favorite album on my ipod! In my opinion the two bonus tracks allow you to see a side of the band that I believe fans have been waiting to experience for years!! You must check this one out! It doesn't matter if you are a fan or not, you want some solid Rock n' Roll, then buy it, your not going to be disappointed! If I could rate the album 10 stars I would!
Then and Now
by RyañGrowing up listening to the Counting Crows was an awesome experience with "August and Everything Else." As soon as this album came out I bought it asap having listened to their old tunes all the time. Owning this album is an embarassment as a CC fan. The songs have completely fake emotion and their lyrics are a disapointment. When my friends here it they say,"That's depressing...", "what's this crap?" or, "I hate this."
If your looking to throw away twelve dollars go and buy it, but I would suggest the album's few hit songs instead.
Must buy
by LanceManion1973This is easily their best album since Recovering the Satellites. Hard Candy was ok but this is way better. August and Everything After, Recovering the Satellites and this one are their best releases.
