iTunes Review

An Eminem album is always more than the sum of its grooves. It’s a psychotherapy playground where its confessor manipulates the intelligence until no one’s sure where the truth is hiding. He lashes out at the world, but he’s no stranger to self-loathing. Eminem’s sober, but he’s not happy about it. His first album in five years, Relapse brings the sound of a man pent-up in his own brain-frozen hell. Valium, Vicodin, Ambien, you name it, Eminem has words for it. “Déjà Vu” recounts his slide down the pharmaceutical trail, passed out in cars, admitted to hospitals for “pneumonia” while hiding drugs from his 11-year old daughter. Em’s old imagined nemeses — Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan — are pretty tired by comparison (the tune’s even called “Same Song and Dance”). “My Mom” offers “sympathy.” He figures his problems are either genetically inherited or learned from a mother he professes to still love. His ex-wife Kim seems to be in the clear, but then maybe she’s embedded deeper in Eminem’s private code. His mind may have been a blur over these years, but he remembers when necessary.

Is alright

I like the 2 bonus tracks the most but it's still a good album

This is supposed to be the best rapper ever?

by Sigh..............

This is supposed to be one of best rap albums ever. It's really not. Eminem's older stuff was rap I could actually respect. This just feels rushed, bland, and forced. My Mom and Beautiful are the only good songs on this. Everything else is just trash, like most rap.

Love it!

I love it. At first, I wasn't sure. It was all about drugs and alcohol, and it was kind of boring. But once you get past that, it's great. I love My Mom, Insane, Same Song and Dance, We Made You, Must Be the Ganja, Deja Vu, Beautiful, and Underground. They're great. I don't know why people don't like it. Though I do miss the old days where each of his songs didn't include some relation to drugs, this is great. And about the accents, so what? I like them. They're pretty cool. I will say that this isn't his best, but it's definately better than most of the garbage out there. Beautiful especially is a throwback to when he was awesome (though he is still AWESOME!) and said something other than getting high. But it's still great. A must-have album

3 AM-- 4 stars. Personally, I think it's lyrically amazing. He tells such a story with this one.
My Mom-- 4.5 stars. Another hit at his mom. Hey, she deserves it, what can we say? I loved it. Very good beat.
Insane-- 5 stars. I LOVE this song. The lyrics are twisted and messed up, and just plain Shady. Love, love, love it.
Bagpipes from Baghdad-- 3.5 stars. Eh, it's okay. I like the gibberish at the end, while most people hate it; it's cool.
Hello-- 2 stars. I fell asleep while listening to this. I really don't like it at all.
Same Song and Dance-- 4.5 stars. Again, a very lyrically solid track. The beat is good, too.
We Made You-- 4 stars. You've got to love this. Shady's dipping back into his old beefs. Love it.
Medicine Ball-- 4 stars. Not too exciting, but the beat is solid.
Stay Wide Awake-- 4.5 stars. Wow. The lyrics are very good on this one. The beat is pretty good, but the lyrics make it shine.
Old Time's Sake-- 4 stars. I'm probably the only one that doesn't really care for the Dre collabs, but good track anyway.
Must Be the Ganja-- 5 stars. Everyone's saying it's a skipper, but I adore this. Such an incredibly catchy beat, the lyrics are very good, and you will find yourself singing this without thinking.
Deja Vu-- 5 stars. Meaningful while still talking about his addiction. A very interesting addition, and great both lyrically and musically.
Beautiful-- 6 stars. Yes the limit is 5 stars. Beautiful is a perfect track. No doubt about it. Em really pours his heart into this, and no one can deny that it is one of the best songs this year. Phenominal.
Crack A Bottle-- 4 stars. Why isn't Beautiful the last track? Crack a Bottle is still good though; definitely not his best, but the beat is pretty catchy.
Underground-- 5 stars. Intense. Very intense. The beat really enhances his lyrics.
My Darling-- 4.5 stars. I really do like this song a lot. Kind of slow, but it's great nonetheless.
Careful What You Wish For-- 4.75 stars. A flashback to the old Em days of how his fame has gotten out of control. A very quality track.

Overall: 9.5/10
As a side-note, the 3 AM music video is a definite must-have. It's creepy, heart-pounding, and enthralling, and I'd never expect that in a music video from anyone other than Michael Jackson (though, sorry Em, MJ's videos were better).

Anyway, EMINEM FOREVER!!!
