Solid debut, strong potential

Came across this group by accident, thought, "Let's give it a shot...." and then caught myself tapping my feet to some pretty good music with a few exceptional pieces as well. Standouts include 'I Could Leave,' where clean vocals and complementary guitars produce a rich, beautiful sound. Also very good are 'Gone,' where, again, simple but soulful vocals give an appealing clarity to the music, and 'Two Miles South,' a soft, mild ballad. As an album, 'Anywhere But Here' may show broad appeal, thanks to the jambalaya of blues and alternative music influences that shape Red Seven's music (hints of Spin Doctors, Hootie, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and the Crows [both Black and Counting varieties]). Overall a good album, and I hope they keep it up -- I'd like to hear from them again.

Impressed

After listening to and downloading a few songs I feel the same way about this music. I liked the music enough to where I eventually downloaded all of the songs available. I have enjoyed listening to this album over and over without being bored of it. Lyrically you can dial into each song and follow along without any effort which doesn't mean there isn't depth to the songs. Musically there is a great tempo and feel that never gets old. For me its a nice pure rock and roll sound that comes at you from an "easy to absorb and enjoy" perspective. Out of the 6400+ songs I have in iTunes i have found the play count to be really high with these tunes which was a little shocking considering the wide range of music I listen to. I guess like all good music, it generally speaks for itself. I only wish there were more songs available to buy.

My top songs are: I Could Leave, Everytime, She Don't Know, Anywhere But Here and Somehow. Those are the standouts however the whole album works great.
