Highly Recommended.
A lot to enjoy here. Typically clever songwriting and polished production. While this EP represents another step forward for an already great band, there does seem to be a connection to their older work - particularly at the beginning of the excellent "Sleep", where you have the classic Cause & Effect rhythm sequence paired with melotrons and an unpredictable beat.
As they go on, it seems they are getting more melancholy, which suits them very well. There's a bittersweet nostalgia to a lot of the lyrics and an underlying unrequited feeling to these tracks that makes them more resonant than most electronic-based pop music.
Looking forward to the next part of this series of releases.

C&E has always had a special place in my music collection as they continue to create some of the most TIMELESS, GENUINE and EMOTIONAL electronic music around.. The "TRIP" album from 1994 is still to this day one of my favorite albums from any artist PERIOD! But I highly recommend ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCT p1. it's FANTASTIC and does not disappoint! I had been following this album release on their Facebook updates for the past few months and could not be more PLEASED with the result! The BEST news is TWO more coming. OH YEAH!

You know that feeling you get when you see something or hear something that moves you in a way that sends chills up and down your spine? It's like your mind can't process the flood of feelings because they are a mixture of hope, inspiration, sadness, happiness and so forth and as a result you have a strong physical reaction. Well, when I heard Sleep for the first time I was moved both emotionally and physically. The entire EP is great, but Sleep is one of the most beautifully sad songs I've ever heard. Thank you C+E for continuing to produce amazing music and for doing something that truly stands out.
