What happened?

Is this a joke? This can't be the same AM Radio that recorded the power pop masterpiece Radioactive, and yet it is. What happened to these guys? Judging by the music and album cover alone, it looks like the band was dropped from their record label, three of the five members quit, and the remaining two members didn't have enough money record their latest album in a studio with professional recording equipment. Every track on this album sounds like it was recorded directly onto a laptop with a Casio keyboard and a $5 microphone. The results are disastrous, but maybe that's the effect they were going for. Maybe there are actually some decent compositions on this album, but if there are any at all, they are most definitely marred by the abysmal production quality. The whole thing sounds really, really cheap and awful. It's pretty sad.

I do think it's kind of funny how the album's song titles and lyrics share my sentiments. What in the World is going on with this album? I guess AM Radio figured Simple Things were the best things during the recording sessions. Maybe I should have A Little Faith in them, since this band has Amazing Potential.

I don't mean talk down on the band, especially considering how amazing Radioactive was, but something must have gone horribly wrong for these guys in the events leading up to Bigger Better Bolder Brighter. Hopefully, the band's just having a Spinal Tap moment or something. I wish AM Radio the best in the future and hope they can pick things up where they left off back in 2003.

A word to the wise: don't buy this album. Buy Radioactive. Trust me, it's worth your money.
