MIKA is Golden!

by dcdeb50

I fell in love with Mika after his first album, Life in Cartoon Motion, nearly 3 years ago now, and this new album does nothing to change that -- if anything, I'm even more in love. He jumps effortlessly from genre to genre -- from the surefire club hit "Rain" to the soulful album closer "Pick Up Off the Floor" to the quirky, almost Disney-esque "Toy Boy" and back to the anthemic "We Are Golden." Musically, he never makes a misstep,
and lyrically he has grown so much. While his pop sensibility is apparent, there's something deeper at work here, and I think Mika will grow, evolve and remain on the world stage for a long time to come.

samples don't do justice

this album is fantastic. it puts me in a great mood every time i listen to it. the samples on itunes don't do it justice - you have to blast each song in your call from beginning to end to really appreciate what great music it is. and i LOVE that he worked with imogen heap!

i could do without "dr. john" -- too much like "life in cartoon motion" if you ask me - and a little boring. sorry mika!

Great Album!

Just like their previous album, this one does not disappoint. Upbeat rhythm and lyrics. Typical feel-good Mika music. I particularly like Good Gone Girl and Blame it on the Girls. Good stuff! I'd love to see this guy in concert. He's one of my favorites!!
