Children of Men - haunting, beautiful, perfect
by SpiritTrekkerAlfonso Cuarón made an excellent decision in choosing to use Sir John Tavener's music in his film's soundtrack. "Fragments of a Prayer" was written specifically for this film by Tavener, whose music is minimalist and hauntingly beautiful. His music perfectly suited the film, making it all the more poignant. Gustav Mahler's song "Nun Will Die Sonn' So Hell Aufgeh'n (Kindertotenlieder)" and Krzysztof Penderecki's "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima" are also excellent. An incredible soundtrack for an unforgettable film.
