Trouble minded tin-can-kicker.
This is great writing. Period.
Bother, I know not what to say
That was beautiful! Anais Mitchell is stunning on her own, but together, she and Rachel Ries made a lovely swooping harmony that I feel came out best on Come September, where they outdid all previous expectations.
Yikes.
The songwriting here is stunning. The harmonies are complex and wonderful, and you hear something new every time you listen. See these ladies live, or if you can't, buy all their albums. It's worth it.

Heavily influenced by the confessional alternative folk stylings of Ani DiFranco, Anaïs Mitchell began writing songs when she was 17. Born in Vermont, she attended Middlebury College and traveled throughout the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe studying global politics before alighting in Austin, TX, in the early 2000s.
