iTunes Review

The music Oasis makes is intended to be played at top volume in massive arenas, which makes the band a perfect candidate for a live album like Familiar To Millions. The album documents the band’s performance at Wembley Stadium on July 21, 2000, in front of 70,000 fans. Familiar to Millions attains Noel Gallagher’s original goal of rock’n’roll that has the sneering urgency of the Sex Pistols and the melodramatic significance of Queen. New songs like “F***in’ In the Bushes” were designed specifically for this setting, while older favorites like “Wonderwall,” a moody ballad on record, are transformed into fist-pumping anthems in the arena. Oasis are not necessarily better in the live environment, but there is no question that playing in front of thousands and thousands of people heightens the sense of grandiosity that is essential to this band’s being. Until you hear the strains of “Live Forever” or “Don’t Look Back In Anger” echoing from the rafters of Wembley as 70,000 fans sing along, you won’t fully comprehend what this band meant to its fans.

Simpley put, oasis is one of the most unique and pure bands and have a sound second to none. I would like to have seen don't go away on here, but still a great score of songs from the greatest band of this generation. These mates rock!

A Live One

This album sounds epic, in the huge wembley arena. the guitars and bass sound very tight and the drumming sounds huge. the vocals are a little hard to hear at times on mostly liam sung songs. the highlights of this concert in my opinion are step out, hey hey my my, gas panic!, and don't look back in anger. Definitely buy the whole album if you can but if not purchase the songs you think are good.

great live album, but not their best

This album, although pretty good, I wouldn't recomend getting the whole thing. But, live forever, supersonic, rock n roll star, champagne supernova, live forever, wonderwall, and, of course, the amazing version of don't look back in anger are all good. I especially recommend don't look back in anger. Amazing track, simply beautiful, with the 70,000 people singing along. Liam's vocals rocked, as always, but were a little.. off sounding, almost as if he's mad about something. But it works. All their best stuff comes from the studio, of course. I do not recommend hey hey, my my: the guitar sounds strange. Too choppy if you ask me. Some of the other songs weren't that great, either, but it's live, anything can happen. Shakermaker, I definitely would not recommend, and acquiesce wasn't that great either, but was okay. The promotional version on that video was better.
