The international phenom has released her 10th studio album to date… Chris Bennett’s crystal clear voice, jazzy phrasing and dynamic range has made her one of America’s premier jazz vocalists. She’s divine. It’s no wonder why fans and critics all over the world place her in a small handful of successors to the legends before her. Speaking of which, GIRL TALK is one for the gals – In her liner notes, she states that man has dominated “The Arts of the western world.” She says that this would have been true of jazz if it were not for one Ms. Anita O’Day, who with a sassy roll of her eyes that you could hear in her voice evened the playing field in jazz. Chris pays homage to the ladies of jazz including Billie, Ella, Sarah, Shirley, Peggy and Nina on GIRL TALK. Accompanied by an all gal ensemble, the production values are impeccable. Singing Jobim, Ellington and Mercer among others, Bennett proves once and for all that girls rule!
