The ten piece acapella group that formed in 1996 at Indiana University proves they’re no one-hit-holiday-wonder on their major debut. Holiday Spirits opens with a snappy rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” — an acapella rendering of The Jackson 5’s 1970 version. They also reverently sing traditional carols, like a formal cover of “The Christmas Song” and a beautiful medley of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing/Angels We Have Heard On High.” Their performance of “This Christmas” gets a soulful spin with advanced doo-wop harmonies and the group’s delivery of The Beach Boys’ “Little Saint Nick” would make Brian Wilson blush with flattery. The Bonus Track Version features flawlessly sung recordings of “White Christmas,” “What Child Is This?” and of course a heart stopping take on Toto’s “Africa.”

Amazing Voices
These guys are best a cappella group I've ever heard. Some of the songs are light-hearted, some are vocally amazing and will give you chills.This CD will be on repeat in my car for months to come - and I'm Jewish! Great voices, great songs - buy this CD and you won't be disappointed!
SNC continues to amaze...
I have been following Straight No Chaser for about eight years now. I was first introduced to the original group when I heard the song, Insomniac. That is still my favorite SNC song by the way. Anyway, this album shows that even after ten years away, SNC still rocks out. It amazes me that J Collins still has his amazing voice that cannot be matched. I was lucky enough to see this group perform in 2006 at IU for a reunion. A lot of those guys hung out with everyone at the show's after party and each one of these gentlemen is a great guy. No big heads running around this group. Congrats to Dan and the rest of the guys!
Simply Wonderful
SNC has hit a home run with this release! What an amazing album! It truly has something for everyone: superb vocals, perfect harmonies, interesting rhythms, and cleverly crafted arrangements. The listener easily transitions from laughing (yes, you will laugh out loud at times) to experiencing rushes of goose flesh as this group’s musicality touches the core of one's emotions.
BTW: my daughter, an IU grad, turned me on to this group. I’m a 60-year-old retiree living on a Caribbean island. I downloaded the album the day it was released – and can’t wait for more from this group. Regardless of your age, if you love music you will love this group – and this album!
