iTunes Review

Repping for Chicago, the Molemen are a hip-hop production team comprised of Panik, PNS, and Memo. They've been crafting high quality beats since the mid-‘90s, collaborating with a wide array of artists locally and from both coasts. Flexing a diverse, layered, and undeniably funky sound influenced by O.G.s like Diamond D, Large Professor, and Dr. Dre, they continue to mine old records for fresh breaks even as current trends shift to simpler, loop-less digi-jams. On Killing Fields they back up an impressive list of top-flight underground MCs, including Del and Casual from Hieroglyphics on the guitar-laced "Scarlet Letter," Brother Ali on the piano-driven "Life Sentence," and Saigon on the rowdy throwdown "2 Hour Banger." Other guests include Vakil, Cormega, Posion Pen, and Felt, making this the perfect choice for serious fans of millennium-era subterranean rap.

I thought hip hop was dead.

I don't even listen to the Boston area radio anymore, let alone worry about which idiot "rapper" has the new hook on everybody's retarded, mongoloid lips. Then I started poking around on iTunes and I couldn't believe I found cool stuff like this album, new D.I.T.C. stuff, etc etc. Hip hop has been dead to me for at the very least 6 years, but this stuff brings it all back. Nice to know there's always an underground.

Raw S*$t!!!!

Another bangin joint from the likes of the Molemen. The beats are raw and will be sure to keep your head nodding. Be sure to pick this up.

Pure Molemen...

Some great underground muzak. Check out steeltribemusic.com for some new shadow poltergiest...sure ta leave ya breathless!

Chicago's premier underground hip-hop production team, the Molemen consist of members Panik, Memo, and PNS. The group was formed in the early to mid-'90s around frontman Panik (aka His-Panik), who had the business expertise as well as connections with local Chicago rappers, namely Vakill. The Molemen have almost always produced for a few select artists, including Vakill, J.U.I.C.E., and Mass Hysteria, affiliated with their Molemen Records label. However, among the three of them, they have supplied...
