Customer Reviews

BoA is Korean, but her music is in Japanese

Wonderful singer and 99% of her songs have a very catchy tune to it that doesn't get old no matter how much you play it. Definately a must to buy at least one of her songs if you like J-Pop/J-Rock.

Also, it's been mentioned that BoA's music should be called K-Pop because she is Korean but the fact that she's singing in Japanese makes the Japanese versions of her songs J-Pop.

Just to clear that up, music is not based on the race of the singer but of the style of the songs.

Korean Version

Did it ever occur to Apple that since BoA is korean (although she is singing in Japan at the moment) they should have korean versions of her songs? i recently heard her sing live at the hollywood bowl korean music festival and her songs were great. i really hope they have korean versions soon...

(>^.^)>Boa 2ns rox! <(^.^<)

Boa is my favorite jpop singer, and one of my favorite anime singers! If you didn't know her song, "Every Heart" was the ending song for "Inuyasha" on the third season. although, I prefer the japanese version than the english, and some will agree with me when I say that it sounds kind of slurred and not exactly right. But... nontheless...GO BOA!

Biography

Born: November 05, 1986 in Korea

Genre: J-Pop

Years Active: '00s

South Korean vocalist BoA is a rarity in that she is as big a star in Japan, Asia's largest music market, as she is in her homeland. Often recording multiple versions of her songs in Korean, Japanese, and English, BoA has also won fans in China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, and Singapore. As a teen pop phenomenon who made her debut at age 14 in 1999, BoA has inevitably been compared to Britney Spears. But her easy-on-the-ears dance-pop and American-style...
