Not That Great
This is a pretty good collection of Ringo Star's music, yes, but is that enough to make it, on it's own, a great collection? No, I don't think it does. Ringo may have had a great career as a musician but he really isn't that great of a solo artist. This is not five-star music. It's average at best. It's not a thumbs up and it's not a thumbs down, it's just right in the middle, and that's enough for me to recommend that you save your money and spend it elsewhere. Pick through it and take the songs you like, but I wouldn't recommend the entire album.
Ringo Rocks!
Paul had his Wings, George was soulful, John was King, but Ringo rocked!! This (finally) is an album of studio recordings of his greatest in digital...not live (although that should have a place in your collection) and it's DRM FREE!! Best of all...7 Top 10 hits, including Snookeroo and the No-No song!! This is a great road trip collection, party album, and it's all finally in one place.
The facts, Jack.
Though he'll never get credit for it, Ringo was the heart and soul of The Beatles. You can tell not only from this sampling of his works, but from his last three solo albums. His songs are catchy, humorous, ironic, soulful--everything that makes a great song great. Thank you, Ringo.
