iTunes Review
Recorded during a time of transition and turmoil for Oasis, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants is the band’s densest and most ambitious work. Much of the album’s electronic embellishments can be attributed to the absence of founding members Paul “Bonehead” Arthur and Paul Mcguigan, who quit the band midway through recording, leaving Noel and Liam Gallagher and drummer Alan White to play all the parts themselves. While the mounting pressure and lack of camaraderie resulted in some overly labored moments (“Who Feels Love?” and “Gas Panic!” for example), some of the studio experiments help the band break into fresh territory. “F***in’ in the Bushes” is a ferocious instrumental that melds Led Zeppelin riffs to Chemical Brothers rhythms, while “Where Did It All Go Wrong” and “Go Let It Out” are effective pieces of modern psychedelia that shuffle along to the sound of their own subterranean rhythm. Even better is the hammering rock of “Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is,” a layered track that combines the insolence of 1993-era Oasis with the aural ambitions of 2000-era Oasis. And while Liam’s songwriting debut “Little James” is no “Wonderwall,” it once again proves that no one can pull off a gloriously soppy ballad better than the Gallagher brothers.

Don't listen to the critics!!!!
by A person....Great album. just not like their others.
1. F****n in the bushes - decent opener... 8
2. Go Let it out - your typical oasis lead single, still great - 9
3. Who Feels Love? - very beatlesy. good song but a bit long - 8.5
4. Put yer money where yer mouth is - i don't like this one at all. don't even buy it. - 4
5. Little James - this one gets bashed quite often for its cheesy lyrics but the vocal delivery is great and so are the instruments - 7
6. Gas Panic! - jeez.. the song that got me in love with oasis and this album, like nothing theyve ever done before and nothing they'll ever do again. very intense and provokes many images. if your buying just one song off the album, make it this one.... seriously!!! ....... 10/10
7.Where did it all go wrong? - good melancholy song with nice lyrics and vocals, IMO the production is a bit too spacy on it - 8.5
8. Sunday Morning call - nice slow song with good single potential. alot of peoples fav off the album. 8
9. I Can See a Liar - an energetic little tune, not bad, not great either, still fun though, i heard this beat out the hindu times (the lead single off heathen chemistry) which boggles my mind. - 7
10. Roll it over - Great album closer, nice delivery by Liam, and leaves the listener on a positive and heavy note - 9
Any Oasis fan just HAS to give this album a chance
Easily Tromps all other Oasis recordings
by niniscoolI'm not a huge oasis fan, i usually find them pretty boring and unchallenging compared to radiohead and blur. but holy s**t this is one hell of an album. its got some great layers of sound and a good swagger. this is the most fresh and exciting Oasis album ever. Screw morning glory, SOTSOG is the s**t bro!
Snatch Song
by caldvr11For those of you who are fans of the movie "Snatch," this tune is instantly recognized. It's an excellent guitar instrumental type song. You gotta love any song that starts with "you can go to hell !"
