Nice first album from the "pen salesman!"
by MusicMan452I like how this album is an amalgam of different styles from hard rock (Boy Next Door, Gypsy Queen) to soul (Turn to Grey) to Tiny Tim?! (The Ukelele Song) The Dave Matthews quality to his voice adds an interesting twist. Rodeo is a little weird. Loving the arrangements to most of the songs. Definitely an album for the music lover.
Suprising
by scarlettmWhile I liked the guy on AI mostly for his personality, I was never wowed by his voice. What a suprise to hear this CD. Far better than I imagined it would be and he has a great voice. Who knew? I actually like this album much better than most others released by former AI contestants. It is just a shame that he still remains an undiscovered talent after such a great CD.
He's From Utah!
by Brownie BabeJPL is from Utah and so am I, and the other night at the Blaze playoff football game, he sang the National Anthem and forgot the words! I think he sounds like Ben Folds when he sings. This album is good though. I was way surprised that this is the kind of album he put released. The songs are great, it's just that his voice almost sounds too trained for these kind of rock songs...I'm glad he did it though because this album stands way out from other AI artists. There's nothing else like it!
