Album Review
Not only did Testament not suffer from the infamous sophomore slump on its second album, The New Order, but the band delivered its best offering ever. Order is every bit as brutally forceful as The Legacy, but the songs are even more memorable. Testament's outlook was still far from cheerful. Taking no prisoners either musically or lyrically, the headbangers embrace morbid gothic themes on such bombastic treasures as "Trial by Fire," "Disciples of the Watch," and "Into the Pit." And Testament's cover of Aerosmith's "Nobody's Fault" is one of the band's finest accomplishments. For those purchasing their first Testament album, Order is the ideal choice.

GROUND BREAKING!
This is Testament's best album in my opinion. Not taking anything from their other albums, Testament really hit the metal world right between the eyes with this release. They even had a steady spot on MTV's Headbangers Ball with the video for Trial by Fire (which is what lured me). It was a perfect compliment to Metallica's Master of Puppets release a couple of years earlier (the dominant metal record of the day). When you purchase this album you will find that each song is well written lyrically as well as musically. Chuck Billy and crew are extremely under rated lyricists not to mention there are not too many metal/thrash albums with as many guitar riffs and metal 'hooks' as you will find on this piece of metal mastery. Recommended tracks are Eerie Inhabitants, Trial by Fire, Into the Pit, Disciples of the Watch and well written, well executed instrumental, Musical Death (A Dirge).
Underrated and Under Appreciated.
Testament is one of the best thrash groups to ever hit the music industry. The shredding on this album is incredibly well done, yet, music like this is overshadowed by disgusting pop/rap music. More people need to appreciate how much talent Testament and other thrash metal groups have.
ITS A GOOD STORY that works well through all of recorded time
The whole album is a chronological story of a people who are "Erie Inhabitants" in a new land who impose "The New Order". The former rulers are in a "Trial By Fire", obviously they are found guilty and are sentenced "Into The Pit". You, common citizen, are put under "Hypnosis" which breaks you. You are now one of the "Disciples of the Watch". "The Preacher" warned you of this coming in the previous song (the new order--"the preacher speaks of prophecy"), but its "Nobodys Fault", saying sorry doesnt help and now "The Day of Reckoning" has come just before the sounds of a "Musical Death". This whole concept could be applied to alot of New Governments from Alexander to Hitler to Iraq now. The New Order could even apply to the new type of Govt being pushed by Obama now, as not bad, but against the grain of the old accepted style of Govt. That aside, New Order and The Preacher are the exceptional tracks IMHO
