Heroes for My Son (Enhanced Version)
by Brad Meltzer
This book is available for download on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iBooks and on your computer with iTunes. Books must be read on an iOS device.
Description
When Brad Meltzer's first son was born eight years ago, the bestselling writer and new father started compiling a list of heroes whose virtues and talents he wanted to share with his son: Thomas Jefferson, Harriet Tubman, Jim Henson, The Wright Brothers, Nelson Mandela-and so many more, each one an ordinary person who was able to achieve the extraordinary. The list of amazing people continued to grow and is now gathered in "Heroes for My Son," a book that parents and their children – sons and daughters alike – can now enjoy together as they choose heroes of their own.
From the Wright Brothers, who brought extra building materials to every test flight, planning ahead for failure, to Jesse Owens, the African American track and field athlete who went up against Hitler's Aryan elites to win four gold medals in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the "Heroes for My Son" Vook, with ten inspiring videos, tells the behind-the-scenes stories of the moments that made them great.
Customer Reviews
Tricked not the whole book
I thought that there were 52 heroes but only 21 in this enhanced version. We love Brad Meltzer and read his books and watch his TV show on the history channel. I still love this book but I would have paid more for the whole enhanced version. So I guess I got just what I paid for. I will check out Barnes and Noble to see if their enhanced version has the whole book. We plan on sharing this with our grandson. Everyone can learn something from these heroes. Very difficult to star when the whole book was not included otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. The description of the ibook stated 82 pages but only 77 show up.
