Hova art lover ,

A completely unique ebook from a contemporary artist

I've been a fan of Paul Chan's work online and at museums like MoMA and the New Museum. When I heard that somebody was publishing his work as ebooks, I had to make the leap and get it.

This book is very interesting. It's not like a regular book about an artist where their works and career are summarized. It concentrates on a body of work he made for the Venice Biennale. It's supposedly about the Marquis de Sade, but it's hard to tell that beyond the images of shadows doing dirty things. Still, the book unfolds nicely, combining images of drawings and stills from the videos and some writings that are, as they say, for adults only.

The best part are the videos. This ebook plays full screen videos! How cool is that! Clips from the video piece. I haven't gotten an ebook with video before so but I look forward to more artist ebooks with more audio/video content.

The table of contents is intense and a bit hard to navigate. But then there are over 180 images in this thing. Hard to believe it's all in this ebook.
